Finally got out of my painting funk and finished up my Maulerfiend for my chaos army. I really liked how this guy turned out. However, the posing with the arm on the space marine could have probably be done better. Hope you guys like it C&C always appreciated. Next up is this Brass Scorpion I have on my desk that has been taunting me. I still don't know what I'm going to do to him to slot him into my ongoing theme.

Blood definitely needs to be darker close to a body and it'd be great if it was flowing downhill. Otherwise, Good job! Blue looks awesome.

Yeah it does look a little to fruit punch red. I mixed in a bit of purple, let me know what you think now.

Damn that looks really good I really need to learn how to do bases with models on such as that space marine but never know how to do that 100%.

How did you do that?

It really depends how fancy you want to get with posing your dead guys but you can usually get a pretty basic pose that looks halfway decent by getting some green stuff and clipping the connection from the arm to the shoulder joint and just attaching it to the shoulder with a blob of green stuff (Space marines are extra easy because the shoulder joint is covered by the giant pads). The rest of the marine is literally just stock glued together and flopped face down in the snow. Usually since its a base you can get away with just a coat of base color, a highlight drybrush, pick out your specific color details, then slap on a wash (Or you can be extra fancy and full on paint your unfortunates).

For the blood I just used the GW basic Blood for the blood god colored paint stuff. It works pretty well on metallic and darker colors but as a previous poster pointed out it can be far too bright when splattered on light colors. You can fix that up by adding in a bit of purple paint or doing multiple coats of blood depending on the effect you want (Multiple coats usually get a fresh blood splat, a little bit of purple mixed in gives a older blood splat, and mix in brown for a decently convincing "almost dry blood stain").

Have fun! Also death to the emperor! (That's right he doesn't even merit a capitol E)

Aye I use Blood for the Blood God for my Chaos Khorne followers Really need to try creating a posed body on a larger base, by how you explained it sounds quite easy (famous last words lol) so will give it a try on next large based model
