Subject: What about full Air Wolves?

Devastating Dark Reaper

Hi,
So I've been thinking around the idea of a heavy flyer space wolves list.
5 flyers to be exact...
I think it would be 4 stormwolfs and one storm eagle. Grey hunters would be in the stormwolfs and 5 terminators in the eagle. I was wondering how effective it would be in games. I realise there will be a lot of anti tank and we would own the skies and that it would be fun to play. But would the list fair well in a competitive area?
Thank you!

You'd need enough on the board to survive the first game turn or you'll auto lose, but I think that's doable. But the question is if that many points in fliers will leave enough staying power to hold objectives, and I'm not sure.

Yea, I guess though it depends who your versing. But the idea would work for both objective and killing everything.

Competitive scene seems to be absolutely jam packed with jink and ignore cover, so eldar and eldar and bikes. With that in mind, half of your shots will do nothing. Necron air isn't even fairing that well these days, and they get like 8 ships with a huge amount of shots, but they cannot hover I guess.

A skyshield would let you still stay all air and start on the board with atleast one flyer in hover mode.

Aircav would be a hard counter to some lists, but I doubt it would be a top-tier SW list.

Ok, so from what you say it won't be that competitive, thanks for the help.
I'll just use it for casual games. Automatically Appended Next Post: Thanks for the help and input
