I just looked on forgeworld and noticed they had the ork stompa listed as "out of stock".

Its been that way for weeks now and with forgeworld cutting models I have to wonder.

Is it typical for them to list things as out of stock before scrapping the line or would they have took it down from their page immediately ? I'm not sure how they operate on that.

Not necessarily. Occasionally it's been like that, but more often, they'd just hide the item altogether. More likely is that the mould has worn out and they've put it in a queue to get a new mould sorted out.

They need to re-master a lot of the Ork stuff. Their estimate last week was "hopefully before Christmas".

Best thing to do is to contact them - chances are Out of Stock simply means that your order might take longer to process as they have to cast it up (rather than just pluck one off the shelf).

I'd expect anything that they are not going to cast or which is going though mould repairs might be pulled from the site until such time as the mould is repaired or they decide to put it back on sale. It would be poor form to keep taking orders for out-of-stock items that they are not going to or cannot (broken mould) produce.

That's one of the main reasons I'm inquiring. I'm wondering would they scrap the only other ork super heavy they produce .

If they're going to dis-continue it the normally just take it down. The Kriegs were out of stock but are back now, they're probably just replacing the moulds.

Yeah, its probably a problem with the molds. Krieg soldiers even disappeared off the site for a while due to mold complications, but they came back. Not surprising given their popularity.

I wouldn't worry. If you need evidence, just contact them.

They have been taking down a lot of stuff lately and mentioned it won't return (the entire Kroot range, Tamurkhan, the Empire landship just to name a few). Those items had 'out of stock' listed next to them at first, but later they disappeared altogether. So chances are these things are gone for good as well.
You best bet is to contact Forgeworld and ask them if the items will come back, they may only need to replace the moulds, but I fear the worst.
