So I was doodling around with my current list for a tournament that explicity states: One CAD, No Allies, No Formations, No Fortifications and (thankfully) No Lords of War.

So the basic premise of this Army was to spam S6 with Flyrants and Carnifexes and I have three lists to choose from and I need your help to decide which one to take!

List one will have a lot of Carnifexes which can bring some serious Dakka, as well as Malanthropes to provide Synapse and Shrouded, acting like a mobile gunline.

General thoughts:
With two seperate Broods of Zoanthropes, my chances of rolling Onslaught increase, which for running and gunning 36 S6 shots, should be immense. The Hormagaunts will act as a screen for the Carnifexes.

Possible changes:
I'm not sure. Maybe cut down on the Biovores and change Termagants into Hormagaunts but that would be it.


List two cuts down on the amount of Carnifexes to include the fast moving Gargoyles and the Dimachaeron as a bullet magnet.

General thoughts:
The Dimachaeron should hopefully take shots away from the Carnifexes, or the other way around, meaning one unit can do what it does best. The Gargoyles act as a mobile screen for the Dimachaeron and can tie up units allowing the Dimachaeron to arrive relativelt unharmed. Meanwhile the Dakkafexes are just rolling around doing their thing. Those Adrenal Glands on the Hormagaunts were the left over points and I didn't feel like a group of Termagants would be worth it.

Possible changes:
I could change the Hormagaunts into naked Termagants for a screen, which would give me 60 points to either spend on Regeneration for the Flyrants, or increase the number of Gargoyles in each Brood (up to fifteen).I could also drop the Adrenal Glands and change one unit into Deep Strike Rippers, and change the Biovores into a Mawloc with Adrenal Glands.

Alternatively, I could up the Venomthropes to three or have a unit of Deep Striking Rippers along with a Hive Crone in place of the Dimachaeron.


List three fills the Heavy Support with Carnifexes, while also taking Gargoyles as fast moving units to claim objectives.

General thoughts:
Between the Malanthropes, Zoanthropes and Flyrants, Synapse should not be an issue. The three Broods of Carnifexes can fire 24 S6 shots at three different targets, meaning that something is going to be devastated each turn. The Gargoyles act as fast tarpit units to tie up dangerous models which could hurt the Carnifexes.

Possible changes:
I can change the Termagants into Hormagants if I find the Termagants too slow, do this would force me to drop the Gargoyles, so I might end up putting Regeneration the Flyrants for points sake, as well as Adrenal Glands.


Would very much like your opinions on each list...so far I'm leaning towards list number 2 as the Dimachaeron looks amazing in my opinion but all thoughts are welcomed and appreciated!

I like one, and three. I voted for three though, Three Broods of twin Carnifexen will put huge pressure on the foe, and be fairly easy to keep track of. I would use Hormagaunts for the screen myself, but Termagants should be just fine.

Well if not, I can replace the Malanthropes with two Venomthropes, freeing up 80 points, which is a third Gargoyle Brood and an upgrade of Termies to Hormies
