I have a question I need answered.
Regarding E/Weaponry.
I have been told that an EM weapon will disable everything but a knife and a pistol.
This came up regarding my Reverend Moiras and ODD and E/Marat.
The conclusion from our local "rules official" was that an EM pulse disables everything but a pistol and knife.
I cannot see that as viable rule since it opens up for so much abuse.
For instance. I drew up a 150 pt. List. And pending first round iniative win I can deploy 6 E/Maulers and lanch of one speculative fire EM/LGL round. Effectively nullifying my opponents advance and weaponry pool during rnd. 1.
Is this correct?

Link to wiki explain the rule with a list of things is disables. If what you are looking for is not in the list look it up in the wiki and it will tell you.

Electromagnetic Special Ammunition (E/M)
This is a type of ammunition designed to interfere with electronic systems through the emission of a powerful microwave pulse.
If a miniature receives a hit from E/M Special Ammunition he must make an ARM Roll using his BTS Attribute. If he fails the roll, all his Equipment and Weaponry, if vulnerable, is affected by the E/M pulse and enters the Disabled (DIS) state.

Ariadnian Heavy Infantries and troops that are not Heavy Infantry, REM or T.A.G.s must make a Guts Roll when affected by the damage of E/M Ammunition. As an exception, those Heavy Infantry, T.A.G.s and REMs which are Immobilized by E/M Special Ammunition cannot perform the Guts Roll.

This is a huge overstatement. Many weapons (notably: plain rifles, shotguns, HMG, GL, other simple weapons) are not vulnerable to E/M and the only harm to a unit which has no E/M vulnerable gear is that they'll have to make a Guts roll on a successful hit.

If you use lists printed by Infinity Army (the official builder) the weapon table will tell you which weapons are vulnerable to E/M.

Remember that TAGs, REMs, HIs and motorcycles are vulnerable too; in addition to having their weapons possibly disabled they will get immobilized after failing the BTS roll.
