Subject: Deepstriking Deathmarks - With the ol' Harbringer of cheese
I have a question about how the deathmarks with harbringer of despair works;
So you give the cryptek the veil? Or you dont?
Basically the hunters from hyperspace gives (wounding on 2's). This combined with the Template weapon Str8 Ap1 means pretty much insta gib of whatever is under the plate. So the cryptek doesn't have DS, but the deathmarks do, However, giving the cryptek veil of darkness allows the cryptek to remove the unit during movement and then DS - All instead of moving. But am I correct to assume that the veil doesn't actually confer the DS rule to the cryptek? As in I can't start him in reserves alongside the deathmarks and then DS them all in together? The only way to manage that is to use a nightsythe as a transport?
The other option ofc is to start the deathmarks on the board, only downside being; that I have to select their targets once deployed.... oh wait... deploying them into reserves counts as deploying them? So I select their target at the start of the game anyway?
Old First Post related to necron as allies -
Spoiler:
Hey guys,
Im slowly but surely building my Ork force, however im not getting many games in as i really like to convert, meaning units take weeks to make it to the tabletop painted.
However, my friend is about to give me a force close to 1500k of necrons, made but unpainted (bypassing my obsessive compulsive need to convert stuff! YAY).
Now I have read up on the old Crons and their jazz, but not entirely what would work well to suppliment my force.
Orks:
Big mek - bike, shokk/kff Warboss on bike
painboy on bike
Nob bikers
Bikers
Plenty of choppa boys, but no shoota boys
2x BW
a couple trukks
14 lootas (usually as 2 x7)
Thats about it for my orks, the rest is either still being modelled and hacked up, or still on a sprue
Crons:
No HQs at current I dont think
40 warriors
10 immortals
Some wraiths
3 ghost ark/doomsarks
The big walker leg thingy
scarabs
Im thinking that as most of my Ork units are either in transports or on bikes then I need to keep up with the rest of my army and provide some more AT and general shooting. Therefore:
2x ghost arks - fill them with warriors and put them on the sides of my 2 BWS? that way I can protect my BW flanks with their living armour, while providing a 4x OS units that once pushed up can hold objectives and shoot units while my orks geta hackin'.
Doomsark? - for my AT needs? usually got a few hidden PKs,
Scarabs and wraiths? to keep up with my BWs.
Any help much appreciated
he doesn't have any croissants sadly, else i'd love to bring in immortals

Ah just realised, there desperate allies, so perhaps having the ghost arks right next to my Ork lines isn't the best.
Il have the crons come up on one flank, so they can still advance at the same pace, but without the chance of getting themselves a roll of 1. Although, do tanks count into that? as in do I have to roll for the ghostark? surely the BWs and ghostarks can still move even if the passengers cant do anything that turn?
Although thats fine for T1, would be a total kick in the nuts T2 if it happened

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.
I would advise a squad of Destroyers or Tomb Blades, and an Annihilation Barge
two Arks full of Warriors is a good central building block, and then you just need a HQ. A fully-tooled Bargelord will be a massive distraction from the rest of your orks.
Hope that helps, despite the fact it runs just shy of 800 points
Experience is something you get just after you need it The Narkos Dynasty - 15k Iron Hands - 12k The Shadewatch - 3k Cadmus Outriders - 4k Alpha Legion Raiders - 3k

ah it does help only issue is im getting all the models mentioned for a really really good price. and i wont be buying more. however, i was thinking a destroyer lord with the wraiths perhaps.
Hmm maybe i could consider buying a few models as i must admit the bargelord is a total beast! although i expect in the next dex update will tone that down a little

If you are looking to use only the models listed above, I would say:
2 Units of warriors in Arks, as above, and then Wraiths and a DLord. If you wish, you can take the 'big legged walker thingy' as well, to provide a little extra firepower.
This makes sense, as it runs a little cheaper as well, and has a similarly-feared deathstar to soak fire

Thanks IHateNids Yeh i don't have much ranged firepower, even with the crons im still needing to be like within 24" for the gauss. But hopefully with all the units being fast paced i'll have those vehicles munched pretty quick. plus i'll squeeze in some scarabs where possible, they just always seem so nasty, with such a great threat range.

I would have loved an annihilation barrage, but ive only got the doomsday arks/ghost arks :/
Although having gone of what people said and a little googling, im now thinking the triach paired with the doomsday arks. I could run the necrons unbound, bring someone for nightfighting T1 (possibly, not sure as obviously also hinders me some degree, but still lets me get close with ma orks).
So possibilities are;
(unbound)
Triach
2x dooms arks
thats about 500 pts of ranged killy killy
(CAD)
overlord (to bring court) - specced to be shooty
Harbringer despair for the Nightfighting
2x ghost arks with 9 warriors - to allow for the court dude and overlord to attach
thats about 600 pts
(unbound or a CAD with a couple troops)
Dlord Wraiths
Scarabs
at again about 600 pts, or more if i turn it into a CAD
Hmm i think i'll have to run a few different lists for fun
