The way I understand the rule it seems more risky than really beneficial. I´ve never used a unit with it before and maybe I undervalue the ability, but isn´t a NormalRoll for both models worse than a face-to-face roll with a decent cc value?

You trade away survivability for a far greater chance to damage the opponent.
If your 6pt piece of rubbish can get an easy crit on that expensive HI, its definitely worth it.

Ok, on a 6point model I see the value but what about Teutonic Knights?

Teuton has two reasons to use it. Firstly, if he's in CC with something that really needs to die even at the cost of his own life - not to mention that he has two wounds so he won't necessarily die.
Secondly, if he ends up in CC with something thats not very valuable (warband, line troop etc), with the way CC currently works even quite strong fighters will be tied up in a slapfest for several orders. Berserk can be a way to get him out of the combat in one order, at the cost of a modest chance of losing a wound.

Not to mention the Teutonic Knight has high ARM and, as said, a second wound. They can afford to be played a bit more risky.

Also, you don't have to use berserk and can just attack normally, so in situations where it would be more risky you can resort to a normal FTF roll.

OK, so now that´s interesting. If it´s optional I guess you use it to negate higher Martial Arts Levels to force a simultanious normal roll instead of getting stabbed right away, right?

Berserk doesn't stop the 'first strike' ability of higher MA levels, it's just that if you survive you're much more likely to rip the MA user to shreds.
