Subject: Imperial Fist Termies. Lightning claws or thunder hammer shield?

Hello all! currently, building 10 termies for my Imperial Fist army. And just wondering if I should just build 5 with thunder hammers, SS and 5 with 2 lighting claws. Is this correct or is there another way?

There are lots of ways. It depends on your opponent and meta, mostly. Those are the 2 options for Assault Terminators.
Use one 5-man squad to ride into claw-assault with a horde.
Have the other squad DS in behind the tank-line, and smash away with hammers. They should survive the turn they land, with the SS to protect them.
Or, have them as a 10-man squad, with your IC boss in there, and walk up the field in full view.
IF get rerolls with Storm Bolters, so there's that to consider.

I'd probably go with a 3:2 build of TH:LC. The claws reduce the total cost of the squad while giving you some way to thin out bigger squads before I1.

This is my personal philosophy as well. Against a lot of things, the hammers are overkill, and the claws add some nice flexibility to the unit. But you need enough SS to cover incoming fire, and THs to hit the big stuff.

Assuming you own 2 of the assault terminator boxes, that’s how I’d do it.
Option 2: (if it’s possible) would be to swap one box for a box of tactical terminators. To be honest, I rarely put more then 5 assault terminators in a list.
Option 3: Build one box as 3:2 TH/ LC. Take the other box and use it to kitbash some characters. See if you can make a librarian, chaplain, and captain out out it. Take the spare two marines from the second box and make another each of TH/ LC. Or double up on librarians in TDA.

The most Assault Terminators I could imagine using in a single list is 7 as that's as many as you can fit into a LRC with an HQ.

Just thought of another option:
If you play apocalypse games, there is an Imperial Fist formation you can use. If you take Lysander, and 3+ units of assault terminators all with TH/SS, then you get accurate deep strike under certain circumstances and a free vortex grenade. I’m not going to comment on how effective it would be, or the worth of dedicating your minis to such a goal, but it’s a thing.
And I almost forgot the stock answer to any modeling choice question: Magnets.

Thank you all for your input I think I'll just make 6 TH and 4 LC. As I can change my list to fit more the army im vsing maybe? money / cost isn't a large factor for me. As I only have 2 armies.
