Skink Armed with a Blowpipe

I have been wanting to start demons of chaos since ive started 2-3 years ago but everytime i start to buy something I stop and get a different army. Well i just picked up a new Dark elf army and dont really have the extra cash to start my demon dream army. SO, would it really be that big of a deal with some conversion work to run my lizards as demons? i have tons of saurus and with the right additions and paint i think it would be ok. I know the last ones to be corrupted by chaos would be lizardmen but its The End Times right?

Saurus - Plauge bearers/blood letters
Skinks - horrors, demonettes
kroxigor - beasts
salamanders - flamers
terradons - plauge drones
stegadon (cannon on back)-skull cannon
carnosaur- Greater Demon

1. Yes or No
2. more ideas

thanks

Saurus could MAYBE work as Bloodletters with some conversion
Skins - Defninetly not Demonettes, and they're too short to be horrors
Kroxigor- yeah
Salamanders- That seems... odd to say the least
Terradons- Yes
Stegadon- HELL YES
Carnosaur- Probably not. Much to large, and stands of 4 legs.

Dear old friends, remember Navarro

DOesnt sound so far fetched to me. In the lustria book skaven poisoned the spawning pools to create chaosy rat beasts...

Salamanders basically where flametrowers in the old book so why not...

In the old fluff, the fifth chaos god was called Malal, the god of self-destruction. His main follower used pterodactl-markings on his armour. Lizard deamons painted in the black and white colours of Malal would be great.

I'll leave this here:http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Malal

Why must I always choose beween certain death and probable death.

If you were willing to really go to town with conversions, it world be very cool to have an army done as a grim mockery of the Lizardmen. In Lord of the Rings, orcs are created as a mockery of Elves, and the same idea could work here.

Honestly, there's no convention fluffwise for what Demons should or shouldn't look like, the GW models are the most common manifeatations but far from the only ones. So rather than corrupted Lizardmen, have demons created to appeal to the Lizard's sense of fear (we imagine humanoid monsters, maybe they imagine lizard like ones), if that makes sense. To me, that's more fluffy and also cooler than dark side Lizardmen.

I would say it isn't fluff breaking to do so, but it really depends on the venue you play in and how they feel about it. If you were wanting to proxy Lizardmen for Daemons to figure out what sorts of units you liked before you committed to buying them, then go for it. If you wanted to use Lizardmen permanently as Daemons then you better put some extra effort in converting them a bit so that your opponent can immediately identify what each unit is supposed to be. Paint job alone won't make it easy for your opponent to know what he is fighting against.

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. Grrr.
