Some of you may have seen Bastion conversions like this.

This one isn't mine, but I made one ages ago when the kit came out but we haven't used it much and never really in a way other than a plain bastion.

I was thinking about it today, trying to come up with reasonable rules and points cost.
A standard bastion is 75pts, AV14, medium building (capacity 20), with a battlement on top. It comes with 4x Heavy Bolters and has an option for either an Icarus Lascannon, Quad-cannon or comms relay.

What I'm proposing is a straight doubling of points to 150, and calling it 2 separate medium buildings - each with a battlement.
The buildings would be:
1 - Bunker at the bottom with the lower battlement next to the tower
2 - Tower section with top battlement

Access points
1 - the original door into the bottom bunker section at ground level
2 - a door from the lower battlement into the tower
3 - hatch from the lower battlement into the bunker
4 - hatch from the top battlement into the tower

Weapons
2 bunkers would mean 8 included Heavy Bolters. 7 of them could still go in the usual positions in the tower, but one of the normal positions would be lost to the door onto the lower battlement. I'd propose relocating this Heavy Bolter and mounting it on one of the railings.

Each battlement would have a position for an optional Emplaced Weapon (Icarus, Quad, Comms) and each building would be eligible for it's own upgrades as per the "Multiple Part Buildings" section of the Stronghold Assault expansion
The building would be a straight substitution for a standard Bastion as both a stand-alone Fortification or as part of an Imperial Strongpoint Fortification Network

Since no one else has said anything, I'll weigh in a bit. Why not just take two bastions?

Overall, you are buying 2 fortifications for double the points, which might seem fair at first, but this only takes "half the FOC slots" where limitation might apply. If I want to take 2 thunder fire cannons or storm ravens or whirlwinds as 1 HS slot, or multiple iron clads or sternguard units in 1 elite slot, should that be the same price as 2 in two slots if I run them as a squad? If there is a formation that lets you take multiple buildings, those tend to have a tax on them, or the CAD tax etc.

+25 points would seem like a reasonable premium to pay to start your test valuation.

In a fun game, for cosmetics, sure. But if a double bastion is modelled so that a landraider or artillery battery is up there, less so since smart bubble wr makes it functionally immune to most counter strategies.

Imperial Strongpoint
Composition: Fortification Network consisting of:

• 1-3 Imperial Bastions.

• 1-5 Aegis Defence Lines.

• 0-1 Skyshield Landing Pad.

• 0-1 Honoured Imperium.
It's already possible to take multiple Bastions in a single slot. I guess there's also a requirement of at least one ADL.
