A skyspear ML misses and per the savant lock special rule, at the beginning of the subsequent shooting phase, the savant lock counter is rolled for and lets assume rolls a hit. Does this allow the target to jink?

From my understanding, per the Jink rule, in order to jink, the unit must first be selected as a target for a shooting attack. Does this mean there is no valid condition met to jink for a cover save?

Thanks!

To jink you must be targeted; sl is not a target.

RAW, SL does not allow jink.
RAI, it clearly does, there's a very clear concept of something being targeted even if there is no wording to support it.

Anacortes

Yes the owning player is stating he's rolling for savant lock, your already the target since the missle is locked on. Jink sway.

Nope, as you can only elect to jink when targeted. By that point it'd too late. Or are you arguing hywpi?

No jink. You were not targeted.

The pilot doesn't see the missile coming because he thinks it already missed!
