Okay, so I am putting together my first 1000 point army list for Tyranids.

HQ

Flryant
-2x TL Devourer w/ brainleech worms

Troops

Termagants x30
-10x Devourers

Tervigon
-Crushing Claws

Elites

Venomthrope

Zoanthrope

Heavy Support

2x Carnifexes
-2x TL Devourer w/ brainleech worms

IMHO the 30 gants and tervigon are not worth it at 1000 points.

Unless you go outside of 12" of the tervigon, when the enemy kills her, all the gants will be decimated.
All of his anti-tank will concentrate on the tervigon, after he shoots the venom.
You can hide her, but then you have 195 points that does nothing.

Yeah, those 195 + 80 points can be spent on something better...like another Flyrant

I'd keep Troops to an absolute minimum (2x10 Termagants, 2x3 DS Rippers or 2x10 Hormagaunts) and spend your points elsewhere.

Not much to add...if you decide to keep the Tervigon...it's already expensive, so try not to spend much more...I'd toss a Thorax Hive on her, and call it good...

Two Winged Dakka'rants is on the bleeding edge for 1000, so it might hurt feelings. So if you wish, you can save money (for now. ) and run one Tyrant at 1000.
