So in December of 2012 my Wife and I started playing Warhammer 40k. Since then I've amassed 6000 pts of Tyranids (Way more with biomorphs but who takes those?) and am happy to finally be finished.

I'm sure in the future Ill get more when new codices come out, but for now I've got my tournament and fluff armies covered.

Behold, Hive Fleet...something. Any name suggestions are welcome.

From a painting perspective, I have always gone for the colors of the desert and tigers, which are by no means mutually exclusive and hence the two inspirations run together. I have many more closeups in my gallery, but this is my first 'group shot'.

Absolutely delicious. The vibrant oranges and soft grey work great.

Hive fleet Tigris or hive fleet panthera as a name?

Tigris isnt bad, the problem is that SM character Tigurius being so close. Maybe its just me.

Nice, I've seen them in dribs and drabs but it's good to see them all in one place.
Your pics aren't the best, they're a little underlit, disorientating, cluttered and hard to read due to the backgrounds but I fully understand as it's not an easy army to photograph in that they don't really rank up all nice like space marines. I tend to find it works better putting the big/tall stuff at the back and smaller bits towards the front, like a scary wedding photograph.

Good job.
Edit: I've always just called mine, 'The Threat'.

Would love to play against this!

The wolves go for the throat.
We go for the eyes.
Then the tongue.
Then the hands.
Then the feet
Then we skin the crippled remains.

Very nice force. Excellent choice of colour, good army composition, and most important - all painted! Good stuff.

Looking good! I have seen your stuff around the site a few times and always liked that colour scheme you did.
I was looking at 6000 points and was surprised to see that its only what 143 models? They are huge models tho lol
I just am semi jealous that 6000 points is so few models for a horde army (I have 4000 points of skaven and that 315ish models.....I have to much to paint lol)

Hey thanks all.

Its true that it takes a lot of focus to get them done, but I really like my bugs and it was always a labor of love. Assembly line is how I go about it with the small guys, one step at a time across the lot.

Excellent contrast between the blazing oranges and bleached stone tones. As I was looking at it, and after I read "Suggest a name," something crept into mind: "Hive Fleet Splinterwight." Based off of the concept of Splinter Fleets, the undead Wights of ancient lore, and how the name rolls off the tongue, I think it might fit for you.

Good luck, and happy wargaming!

Those space lobsters look amazing! At least, that's what they look like to me, but don't take it as an insult. The coloring and detailing are fantastic.

Hey thanks man. I think I need to get around to reading a tyranid book or two to get a better grasp of the fluff to name them

Looking forward to the pics on a display board.
Just a quick thought on your presentation, and its probably worth editing your op too. Go back and leave a bit of space between each picture it'll help a lot when it comes to making them more readable.

Really liking the colour scheme. It is one of the best things about a tyranid army imo, that there is no standard colour scheme's.

The size of the army is terrifyingly good
