Hey guys,

So I'm starting out Bolt Action and I'm going with the British Commandos. At 500 points I was thinking this list just to start out

2nd Leftenant
-2 extra men

Commando Section
-Vickers K LMG
-2 SMGs
-AT grenades

Commando Section
-Vickers K LMG
-2 SMGs
-AT grenades

PIAT Team

Sniper Team

Medium Mortar Team

This adds up to 495 points. And, as I understand it, I'd need to buy the commando box (25 plastic men), which would cover the leftenant and his buddies, the sections and the sniper team. The mortar also has a model (3" commando mortar). My question is, what do I use for the PIAT team? Do I use a regular British PIAT team? Or the para PIAT team? Or do I need to go outside of Warlord. Or have I just failed completely at searching for it.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Here ya go.

I actually got the book so if you need any info just ask. I too have just started

Like you I used one of the infantry boxed sets to make all the things like medics, snipers and officers etc. Just need a few support weapons that cant be made from the sets.

Sorry misread, trying to find a piat haha

Hmm cant find it wither. Warlord always know about alternative models if you wanna ask them.

Or you can do what you suggested.

Good luck though.

Thanks for the help. I've got the Main and British forces rukebooks, which is how I got my list sorted. I'm sure there's no scarcity of 28mm commando models, should be relatively simple to source.

You could (maybe) just buy a Piat team then replace the heads with the spares from your other sets?

Didnt look at the bodies for long so not sure how they compare.

The issue would be the smocks the paras had, I'm not sure if the commandos had them, but from memory they did not. Ah well, I'll just have to hunt the internet. My opponents at the store won't care at all if they are paras, don't get me wrong, but still, it'd be nice to have them dressed right.

Even if you used the regulars bodies?

I know what you mean though. Gotta be right for you, because chances are you will be the only one who notices haha

Commandos with a PIAT, as well as some cool command models and what not. Success

Anyway, that's probably my questions sorted until I get into the game properly. Cheers
