Subject: Alternative SM Terminator Heads? (which companies?)

Hi guys, I really want to do something different than the standard GW heads for my Salamanders Terminators, and I've considering getting some Lizardmen bitz for conversions but I'm not sure I really want to go with such a tribal look for them. I know there are lots of companies making IG-variant and even alternate marine heads, but are there any good "28mm Heroic" terminator-style heads? I'm looking for something bigger and beefier than a normal helmeted head, something that says "Terminator" but isn't the GW head.
There was one company whose name I can't remember that makes different "egyptian god" heads (not the maxmini ones) who had a snake/alligator head, but it wasn't quite what I'm looking for. But, something like that, i.e. reptilian but still "futuristic armor" (so not just a lizardman head glued to a termie body), would be ideal. Even if there's nothing reptilian out there, I'd really appreciate any leads or suggestions you guys might have for other possible SM Terminator heads. Thanks! Automatically Appended Next Post: Okay, I found the heads I was referring to, they're from Puppets War and here they are: http://www.puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=101
Those are almost perfect for me, but I don't like how overtly Egyptian they are and how feminine the eyes look. But damn, I don't know if I'm gonna find anything else like them. What would you guys suggest?

*bump*
Any ideas? I'm wondering how it might look if I filled in the eyes on those puppets war heads with green stuff, then filed them down and added my own eyes... I think it could be cool, but I'm not sure what I'd make the new eyes out of...

Spellcrow.com has "Thousand Son" and "Salamander"-like heads and other bits. I have ordered from them directly before and it is good stuff. I actually prefer their stuff over puppetswar or Kromlech.
Although not really matching your requirements, Anvil Industries also makes some great stuff.
The Egyption style terminator kit you mention pops up every now and then on ebay. Some people say it was a sculptor from Estonia who made them, others say a discontinued Forge World kit. I have a set done in my gallery. Its only a torso, head, shoulder pad set. I paired the set with AOBR legs with the Imperial icons shaved off as Chaos legs are a bit too gawdy and don't match the kit very well.
I also have some Salamanders Terminators with heads made from regular heads spliced together with Lizardman Temple Guard heads. It was a bit of work but I was happy with the end result.
Good luck !!
PS.....if you ever encounter any Slanesh style Terminator heads, let me know. I saw a set once that were perfect but are a complete mystery in origin.

Look around at manufacturers such as Kromlech, Maxmini, Secret Weapon, etc. As mentioned before, Spellcrow has some great heads and their resin casts are top notch, plus they'll send you a nifty ziploc bag that says "Made in Poland".
Here is an example of one of their "Chaos Knights" heads.

Rickfactor, your Salamander Firedrakes are nothing short of amazing and are actually what inspired me to get creative with my Terminators! I love how you combined the Lizardmen heads with the termie heads, they look fantastic but I didn't want to just steal your idea, and I'm not sure I could even pull it off if I tried.
As for the Maxmini Egyptian heads, these ( http://maxmini.eu/conversion-bits/head-swaps/mecha-egyptian-heads-bits) are actually the ones I was referring to, though I had a look at your gallery and you Thousand Sons are really cool too.
In general, I really like the look of the Spellcrow Salamanders stuff, and have actually had their dreadnought upgrade kit and shoulderpads waiting for me to pull the trigger in my cart for quite a while now, but in my humble opinion their Salamanders helmets are a bit too demonic/Chaosy for my tastes, so those are unfortunately not an option for me, personally.
Peter, Kromlech stuff looks good quality but unfortunately all they really make in heads is Orc, IG, and Chaos stuff, same with Secret Weapon, and MaxMini doesn't really have what I'm looking for, either.
Thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it. I'll keep searching and report back if I find anything interesting, (that goes for your Slaanesh heads too, Rick, though I'll also PM you if I find any.)

Thanks Shauni, I've actually seen those before but forgot about them. They could be a possibility if all else fails, but I'm not sure I really like how "skull-like" they are. Seems a bit too demonic to me, but I appreciate the suggestion and will keep them in mind.

Sooooo you want a cyber-netic dragon head? Is that right? That would be so cool...

Yeah, basically I'm looking for something that still looks like a futuristic armored helmet, even if it is lizard-y or draconic. I just don't want it to look like "head chopped off a medieval dragon and glued onto a human's neck", is all. A cybernetic dragon head would be one way to go about that, or perhaps modified/converted versions of those Puppets War Sobek heads I posted (still considering getting those and modding them, to be honest. )
I know I'm not giving you guys much to work with (sorry!), but I'm going with Salamanders theme so it sort of limits my options.
