Hi guys I'm looking at starting a small tau kill team consisting if 3 battle suits and 6 fire warriors and hoping to do them in a cream/ red colour scheme with the armour being read and the cloth cream but I wanted some advice for the battle suits, should I do a half and half scheme or do them mainly red with a few thin lines of cream running down across or diagonally across there bodies ? Also has anyone painted tau using a zenithal highlighting technique as the only pictures I can find are with edge highlighting ?

Hey man, I think a cream/red scheme would look really good. personally I think that red is a better highlight color than cream so if you had the cream with red streaks it would stand out more.

Zenithal is just a technique of pre-shading your models it will work on any mini you do.

Good luck and post some pics when you get started with it.

paint the armor of the Suits the red then the details like the Sept marking, squad and rank markings and what not in the cream color, but at the same time, leave some black on the suits in the joints and the non armor parts. make the tip of the weapons you use as cream color, in a way using it as a spot highlight almost, just to bring detail to parts in the miniature, post pics and I can give a bit more detailed help.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.
