I've been trying to convert my own Nurgle Obliterators using plastic Terminator Legs, but I wanted to bulk them up a little to truescale to make them different form regular Termies. I have quite a few tools for working with Green Stuff, but I don't have anything that gets the GS to a smooth enough texture. I see people use Clay Shapers a lot, but I don't know what sizes and types I should get for starting out with? And eBay has so many to choose form it's a little overwhelming. Any GS Masters have any guidance? Is there a particular set you use and would recommend?

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. Grrr.

Try size 0, extra firm.

2nding the extra firm, I ended up buying multiple different types, the extra firm (black) ones were perfect.

I have size 0 to size 2, and reckon I use 2 more than 0 - but it depends on what you want to do I guess.

Thirded. Size 0s for most smoothing at 28mm scale, and a size 2 or... er... two... for any relatively large surfaces or models.

As for shapes, I like a taper - for smoothing around details and sweeping side to side - and a round cup - for drawing and rubbing back and forth. To my eyes the round cup doesn't leave the same kind of tiny nicks and grooves that the corners of the chisel or chisel cup do, but YMMV.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

Yep - extra firm, size 0 for me, as well. This set is what I use, although I don't recall paying quite that much and I'm sure I bought from a different seller.
