Hi all,

i am going to a apocalypse here this sunday, and i badly need some advice, only played apocalypse oncebitten before, and that was with another guy more or les managing the army... I need to build a 4000 and a 5000 points army... There will be 12000 on each side...

What i know,
Enemy side is;
5000pts demons
5000pts orks
Maybe 2000pts space wolf...

On out side is:
4000-5000pts Imperial Guard
2000 pts dark angels
2000 pts iron hands
Me 4000-5000 points space marines...

I know the ork has 1 or 2 stompas, other than that i dont, Think they have any super heavys...
I know the IG planer has a LOT of super heavys, don't Think any of the others do...

What i have;
2 landraiders
3 predators
2 vindicators
1 Whirlwind
3 thunder fire
1 Stalker/hunter
2 storm raven
6 centurions
3 devastors squads
3 attack bikes
20-25 bikes
2-3 land speeders
2 storm talons
10 Assault marines
2 dreadnoughts
2 ironclads
25 Sternguards
10 terminator (5 normal and 5 Assault) with all weapons
40 Tacticals
25 scouts

6 drop pods
3 rhinos/razorbacks

2 imperial knights
2 fellblades
1 thunderhawk

2 Wall of martyrs - vengeance battery
Ageis defenceline
And here comes the thing, i have no clue what to bring... I was thinking i wanted the super heavys with, but it is a LOT of points...

But my idear was;

2 fellblades with upgrades, - to deal with the horde
Thunderhawk - to have a d weapon and help with rulning the skies
2 knights paladins - to have range to shoot, and beat anything that comes close
2 Wall of martyrs - vengeance battery, to help with the air defence
2 storm talons - to rule the skies
2 storm ravens - to rule the skies
3 predators - to give Them the formation so they shoot d weapon on one target...
Aegis defence Line with quadgun

But with all that i am almost at 4000, so i have to take some things away, thinking of taking the knights out, and maybe some of the flyers to have some more ground troops...

Anyone have any good idears?

Sorry if my spelling is crap...

Best regards

FILL THOSE PODS! I think the most fun apocalypse game I have ever had was when I stuck 7 sternguard units in 7 pods along with a whole lot of independent characters in even more pods. Oh, and I had a thunderhawk, 3 storm ravens all filled with normal marines and a centurion star backed by a lot of IC psyker support. It was a blast just placing a few models on the table then having the rest of my army come into play in pods turn two annihilating stuff then getting blown off the table by turn three. My turns were quick, my impact on the game was tremendous and I had time to eat, sit down, watch all the awesome models and battles, and maybe read a book or get a pick up game started. (I have a lot of marines)I think apocalypse is fun when you just bring your favorite models and watch them do what they do best.

As for your list I think it looks fine, however that predator formation is really underwhelming. I find most of the time that one (non-twin-linked) strength D shot isn't that great and it replaces three lascannon shots which arguably do more damage to things. Also, daemons and orks don't really "rule the skies" So you don't need to bring so many flyers especially when you have a guardsmen and two more marine players on your team. Cut out the preds, the storm talons, and the defense line for some marines in pods for objective securing and distractions.
