Hi, just got the sniper drones n wonderin if anyone had any good and effective ways to play them??

Crisis Suit Commander nearby with Drone controller.......
Sniper Drone controller in a expose position....he get's opted out and Commander picks up the sniper drones

since they are a unit that means the controller has to be 2in away from drones correct? Or is there a special rule,,,,, i cant remember seeing one

Put an ethereal and 2 markerdrones in with the 3 spotters and as many sniper drones as you have room for. The marker drones will be bs5 thanks to the spotters, giving you 5 bs5 marker lights. The ethereal can cast storm of fire, making the sniper drones shoot 3 shots at 24''. Stick this unit in cover for t4 3+ cover save near a broadside team to keep the broadsides from failing their horrible ld8 leadership tests.

To expand on this--take unit of three Broadsides with an Ethereal in a Bastion. A full Sniper Drone team can jump up and down the Bastion and make use of the Ethereal's sniper and leadership buffs.

Use Aun'Va - who helps your whole list anyway. Going to ground + Stealth + Aun'Va = win, and Tough 4 majority also = win.

Sniper Drones are awesome platforms for Markerlights. I always use three Firesight Marksman with three Drones. this frees up a Fast attack slot, and is my only Heavy Support slot. I think the majority tough 4 is big, stealth... Accuracy of BS 5... much better production than alternatives and harder to kill. Frees me up to have a Drone Swarm with Buffmander as a second Markerlight platform and then the Pathfinders are free to go on the attack instead of being "marks" themselves.

My style of play is to attack from multiple angles which disallows the enemy from concentrating any effort anywhere, I get the jump on them and I CAN concentrate force where its needed. Having mobile Markerlights is important ergo the Drone swarm, and durable.
