I had made a prior attempt at customized Warp Spiders (finding the monopose metal/Finecast ones old and boring, even if they're still pretty good looking for their age), but I made the mistake of assembling them entirely before painting. At the time I was still learning my airbrush, so this made the paintjob terrible and messy. I also didn't like how those heads came out, so when doing these replacements for them, I decided to use some different heads.

The parts are:
-Eldar Guardians
-Dark Eldar Reaver Jetbike heads
-Warp Spider backpack and gun pieces

Feedback and commentary of all types is welcome. Thanks!

The effects you've pulled off on the helms look amazing. Bases look great, too. I really like 'em.

I love the (metal) WS models, but what you've done here is simply superb.

The colour scheme is really ethereal.

Nice, I love those helmets. Apparently a lot of other people do. Were you able to find them affordably on eBay? Last time I looked someone wanted $5 per helmet.

I had recently completed a project using the Dark Eldar jetbikes as a base that used different heads, so I didn't need to buy any of them. That's part of the reason why the squad numbers 8 members, though (the other being that I rarely field more than 8 Spiders in a unit for some reason).

Agreed. Great conversions, good bases, and a paint scheme thats almost disturbing in subtlety.

I love the helmets most, the visors have a milky / self contained atmosphere feel to them that remind me of Tali from the Mass Effect series. Brilliant models overall but this really takes them to the next level.
