So I'm currently building a pig themed Space Wolves army.

This is the first model of my Sky Tusk Assault Squad.

Because they are pigs I thought it was fitting that they were flying pigs, hence the wings.

Well that is a thing, and you made it.

I would recommend a wash to bring some depth to the armour and highlight on the reds.

The flying stand looks really uncomfortable, can't get over that part haha. Looks awesome. Hannibal would be proud my friend. But I must confess, I don't get "Pig" unless I look at their crest which is hard to focus on under the wings

The helmet has a pig-snout-ishness to it.

^ Wow I didn't even realize that. Unless you told me I wouldn't have even known. It's a stretch for me honestly, maybe in person it would be more piggy-like.

If you want the marines to actually be pigs you could use these http://elementgames.co.uk/wargames-and-miniatures/gaming-and-accessories/bitz-conversions/warhogs-heads-10

Personally the subtle pig ness to this model really works. It looks like just an interesting conversion until you tell them it is really a pig. Than you see it as a pig and nothing else (at least for me.) It is an extremely well done model.

I actually bought those heads. I planned on using them as Mark of The Swine (mark of the wulfen) but since GW axed MOTW I'll probably use them to build a Character

When I first got back into modelling at the start of the year I found a little pig toy at a dollar store and strapped a coulple of bolters to it and radio gear just for the hell of it really. Then I was joking around with my mate about making a Space Pigs army and came up with a few ideas and ran with it.

This is the first Pig Marine I did as a test. The snout is just GS pushed into the mouthpiece with some wholes poked in and the ears are small triangles of plasticard glued on the side.

The reason the Assault marine doesn't have ears is because of the sight thing on the side of his head

Personally, pigs creep me out and the idea of them as space marines seems more demonic than "imperial" (or whatever word you'd use to say they are the "good guy" version of space marines), especially if you're planning on using those Kromlech Warhog heads. I mean, those would have to be Chaos mutations at that point, right??

But don't let my stick-in-the-mud-ness get you down. For what it's worth, the marine with the pig ears is pretty adorable.

I love the pig-marines, and actually prefer the fact it hasn't got ears and is underplayed. However the flight stand does look a bit arkward, maybe a but of brass rod painted black would work better?
