so i picked up some orks the other day got 2 warbuggies 1 wartrakk and one skorcha along with 3 warbikes, I havent played for about 15 years but would like to field these in my ork army when i do get a few games in what is the best weapon loadout for the buggies and trakk? shootas or rokkits? isit worth paying the points to upgrade the warbikers to nobz?

TL Rokkits are a lot better than shootas on Buggies and Trakks.

As for Nob Bikers - are you talking about running all nobs on bikes or are you asking about adding a nob to a normal warbikers squad?

TL-rokkit warbuggies are great and can find a way in any list due to being cheap, mobile and pack...well, rokkits. Skorchas are very situational and won't work in most games. Tracks are not worth fielding en masse, but 1 out of a squadron could be used as track to more reliably score points in difterrain. That's optional but has it's uses from time to time.

Nob bikers are outshadowed by regular bikers in our new codex. You still need nob biker leaders, though.

cheers guys! my mates will let me use the track as a buggy im sure, was thinking of going all mekanised with 9 killa kanz buggies skorcha and bikers in a 750 list just for gaks and giggles. I'm guessing that would be considered less than optimal?

Yep but cause of spreading focus. You simultaniously have kanz and bikers. While buggies are fine in any list, other elements must hit the enemy simultaniously. Timing is very important for orkses.

One last comment about Skorchas - while they aren't competitive, they ARE very fun to run in numbers. I had a fun game the other day where i fielded a full unit of 5 of them. My opponent (Crimson Fist SM) felt they were a larger threat than my MegaNobz and Tank Bustas at the end of the game.

Against some armies, they are very good but are really too situational to be considered truly competitive. Being heavy flamer profiles, they gain the benefits of template weapons (No escape, ignores cover, etc). This makes them great for any army that hides behind an aegis, AV13 Necrons, DE, and even other Ork players. Blob guard and horde nides also fall to them.

So, while I would say Skorchas are the lowerest options of the units mentioned within this thread, they can be fun and threatening to field just the same.

Issue is with skorchas isn't that they are bad at all. They simply fill the same role as the basic ork profile, so they don't add anything to your army you don't already have.
