While looking for boosts for my SMurfs, I looked at chronus. I don't see him in any lists really, and he seems to offer more to the SMurfs than LongStrike does to the Tau for about the same price, yet. He seems like a good choice fro and Annihilator, Vindicator or a Phobos pattern landraider (I can see some evil FW tanks to stick him in). So what am I missing to not be seeing him more.

He’s still a bit pricy. With it being harder to one-shot tanks, I do see your point about 7th being a better place for him. A lot of out tanks already have TL’s guns, or the vindi’s blast, so his BS5 is not as important it looks. If you want to run a mech heavy list, you are probably looking at IH tactics, not UM.

I keep looking at him; I have the mini. But when it comes time to put a list together, I just can’t find the points for him.

TL BS5 is as about as close to a guarenteed hit as you can get though. If you are running a limited amount of Armour, having something like the Annihilator (2 lascannon, 1 tl Lascannon) hitting with 2-3 shots every turn, being able to recover hull points, and finally "spawning" a SM when it dies just seems really useful.

Maybe there is some FW tank he fits in, but honestly he is not adding much to your tanks.

Longstrike gives tank hunter-a meaningful offensive boost (in addition to BS5), and some defenses with his free overwatch, chonus gets gives BS5 and some defensive boosts.

What you need to make chonus effective, is a tank that boasts a meaningful defense to begin with (so his own bonuses will matter), and is not already twin-linked.
If there is such a SM tank, try it out. but otherwise, you are just spending points on meaningless upgrades.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

I think the only problem with him is that with Longstrike, he buffs an already amazing tank with amazing guns. Predators and Landraiders tend to have "meh" weapons so that 50 point investment doesent seem nearly as advantageous as making a str 10 ap1 shot BS5 with tank hunter (so a very very good chance at explosions) over making a TL Lascannon BS 5 and a little more survivable. If they made his points better or had a better tank, like that one crazy predator with the conversion beamer from FW, maybe id consider.

17,000 points (Valhallan)
10,000 points
6,000 points (Order of Our Martyred Lady)
Proud Countess of House Terryn hosting 7 Knights, 2 Dominus Knights, and 8 Armigers
Stormcast Eternals: 7,000 points

I use him, I throw him in a bunch of different tanks to spice things up. I wish I could toss him in a felblade but people freak out because the felblade tank is not a tank.

I've even tossed him in my Sicaran just for added survivability. BS5 on Las Cannon sponsors is not too shabby. I know people tend to get a little bent out of shape about the AC being twin linked but i don't mind not having to reroll.

Having IWND and ignoring crew shaken and crew stunned results is good in my opinion.

A Sicarian is literally the only tank I would consider throwing him in. Maybe a Felblade, if you are allowed to throw him into Superheavy Vehicles? Or the one with the Neutron Laser...

Sounds like maybe an Achillies would be good for him. Already a tough enough nut to crack that IWND becomes ugly, and thunderfire cannon with minimal scatter. BS5 TL MM is probably not bad either.
