I have no idea why, but I love Hereys-era BAs. I have no interest in the BA Chapter, but the BA Legion - I love em. It was actually my brother who got me onto them (planting the ideas for many armies, as he does), but also the opportunity to do something in a colour for a change, with plastic kits available, that I hadn't seen done too much (until they get covered by FW, of course!).
So the plan was to build 1500pts of Blood Angels Legion with Mechanicum allies, not aiming for highly competitive but just to look cool. I started with 1500 because I did not think I would actually keep the motivation to even get that far, let alone further. Now I have hit that goal, and I'm looking to build another 500pts.
The army actually began with my chaplain, or in the IX's case, the Warden. He was built out of parts I had lying around / gifted from a friend, and I am really happy with him. I'll post some WIPs, and the finished product.

This ia absolutely beautiful, the pose is perfect mad the detail on the shield is brilliant.
How did you do your red? It looks very vibrant.

Kabuki Models produces an "Angel Knight" in their Knights of Legend line that is most certainly not supposed to be an off-brand Sanguinius. You certainly wouldn't use it as the base for a conversion for your own project.
