Ever since the first images of the Stormwolf/fang leaked I've hated it and have been trying to come up with a conversion idea that still looks like a dropship capable of carrying 16 Spehss Mareenz, that isn't huge and doesn't look like a shoe/shipping container/irish terrier.

Sooo, there's no promise that I am going to make this, it's just some quick MS paint (well, actually, GIMP ) sketches to get an idea of the shape of it.

I have a few projects in mind for the coming weeks, this is a prospective idea for a project I might do (another one being to buy Space Hulk and paint the models ).

I know the lines in these sketches may not quite line up with each other, it's only an initial thing to get an idea of the overall shape. If I decide to go ahead with it, I'll probably buy a Stormfang, measure it up, put it in CAD and start designing a 3D model to use (or maybe I'll just wing it and start assembling it like I did with my Stormtalon conversion, though that was a lot simpler ).

Side view: It will be open at the front, so the first thing you'll see when you look at it from the front is the door that you'd see on a regular stormfang. The overall length of the ship is the same as the GW model. It's just wider because of the wings, and it might end up a touch taller but not much.




And a top down view, I couldn't find a top down view of the Stormfang so I just drew it up from scratch, the red rectangle is where the "shipping container" part lies under the craft, the blue rectangles are the engines.



What do you think about the overall shape? Am I on to a winner or am I crazy?

Could be cool. It also may end up looking very chunker.

Yeah, I'm just not sure if I want to venture in to it It's either this, Space Hulk or get some 15mm WW2 German and Soviet troops for Battlegroup Kursk/Bolt Action, can't decide which to do.

I don't really play much 40k any more so it'd mostly be to prove to myself I can make the shipping container look better
