Hi everyone,

We have been thinking that for Orks with their powers of regeneration, having different arm / leg / head configurations is probably not all that wrong. But, we notice that it doesn't seem very common at all in models other than Bioniks.

As we have been building up our Pink Orkys we have either accidentally or on purpose made a few such edits (two left arms, two heads, extra arms).

The more we read about Doks - would seem that either on-purpose or accidental or even by-necessity switches and changes could happen. And, with Orks being able to get rolling again after stitching together maybe not too uncommon.

Are we crazy or perhaps touching on a taboo topic? Doesn't seem that very many modified Orks are in people's army photos - and we weren't sure if there was some kind of unspoken rule against it.

Here's a link with photos of our attempts on this so far: http://www.battlegaming1.blogspot.com/2014/09/warhammer-40k-modified-orks-backwards.html

Thanks

It's actually bizarre this isn't a more common occurrence - the fluff supports it frequently! I say go for it.

Ork physiology is only surpassed in its eccentric-yet-effective simplicity by Ork technology. There's absolutely no reason why not. Orks are also known to come in what are basically "strains"; clans of unique and specific mutation which are, oddly, never that profoundly different to other Orks (Flash Gitz are a good example). There is definitely room to play with regarding Ork mutation, even without throwing in Mad Doks and so on (which are, as you have explained, perfect for this).

I think the general reception will be "cool, weird Orks". If anyone asks why, "Mad Doks" is all you need to say.

My Bad Dok conversion is an old metal Nob body, Grotsniks head, saw blades for hands, and an extra arm growing out his back. Definitely looks doky,

There is not this idea.

I like 'em. The two-headed guy turned out real nice.
