Yes I've done several searches and the last post I found on the topic was from 2013.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Warhammer-40k-Astra-Militarum-Imperial-Guard-Steel-Legion-Squad-8-figures-/371149540322?pt=Games_US&hash=item566a3c8be2

Are the unpainted units I see there plastic? Or just primed in grey? I could have sworn there were no Steel Legion at GW several months ago, I looked in today and they have some. I found a few rumor mill threads on the web, but nothing definitive.

TT noob question, looking to start my first Army and I'm very uninformed, though learning a bit more every day. Can I field Steel Legion units as Renegades along with my World Eater/Khorne Army? Are there specific rules for Renegade Steel Legion, or will they simply be "Renegades" in general?

Now from TT back to the modeling aspect, if these are indeed plastic Steel Legion units, are the Forge World RENEGADE MILITIA CONVERSION SET (product code : 99550102051) http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Chaos/CHAOS_RENEGADES/RENEGADE_MILITIA_CONVERSION_SET.html compatible with Steel Legion? Along with all the other Renegade conversions? The description states Cadians, Catachans or Marauders, nothing about Steel Legion.

Thanks.

No, they've been primed grey as you said.

"Do you have a map of the cat?" - Richard Feynman

How to paint Skeletons the way I do if that's something you'd fancy trying.

Damn... okay then. Thanks.

Have to wonder why they're not doing them in plastic. When I used to build models as a kid, I stayed away from the metal figures and as a result I stayed away from Warhammer and 40K because I'd been told metal was difficult to work with, but that was about 30 years ago. You'd think pretty much everything GW does today would be plastic or resin.

Everything new that GW puts out is plastic, but I guess they have higher priorities than redoing old IG regiments in plastic. As someone with tons of old Cadians, Valhallans, and Steel Legion, I know your pain.
