Hey everybody!
I'm brand new to the WH 40k world.
I literally just got started about two days ago when I got the Pathfinder Team, paints, and all that other jazz.
I can't seem to find where to find how many points each of my models are worth. Even in my codex, I cant find it clearly written where it gives all of the other stats.
Also on top of my pathfinder team, what are my options for expanding my army to be able to play in the 500 point escalation league starting three weeks from now?
Like I said, I am brand new to the hobby. It's gonna take actually seeing a battle fought in person and someone willing to teach me these things rather than just skimming my rulebook and codex.
Thanks a bunch for any info and your patience!

In the codex there are two main sections that show rules - one is the part where there's about a page of fluff (lore) and color artwork of the unit in question, with some of their special rules spelled out. The second is in the back in the bestiary section where it'll say a unit costs X points and can take Y for Z points. This part is the last section of the book and is where all that stuff tends to be.

Pathfinders are Fast Attack so you'll need 2 troops choices and an HQ if you want to go bound, which I'd recommend starting out.

Any of the HQ's are good really, and choosing between Kroot and Fire Warriors is personal preference but Fire Warriors are probably safer.

Pathfinders are a good choice, and a would suggest a battleforce to flesh out the army. You can make one of the crisis suits a Crisis Suit Commander to fill your HQ and the other 2 crisis suits can be a normal Elite slot unit that the commander can join.

Thank you for the help!
I'm really looking forward to getting started playing and finishing out my army!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Do I have to do anything specific to make a Crisis Suit into a Crisis Commander? Is it just something to set it apart or are there specific weapons and pieces I have to use?

nope, leaving it as is is fine. In the fluff though the main difference between a commander suit and normal suit is that the sept colour is the main colour on the commander.

So Farsight is of Vior'la sept, who's armour is grey with red sept colours but are inverted on Farsight's suit as he's a commander.
