We'll find out soon enough eh.

I'm putting together an Averland warband for Mordheim based around the Mountainguards, all the henchmen will be armed with a crossbow in addition to their melee weaponry. Normally I quite like the ludicrously huge crossbows that come in the Handgunner/Crossbowmen box, but for this purpose they're just not practical. Anyone know where I can lay hands on a pack of loose 28mm crossbows, ideally quite detailed but more petite than the GW plastics?

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

First thing that popped in my head are crossbows from the WotR Mercenary box of Perry Miniatures, but i just remembered that they're all connected to arms (so in other words, not loose). They're in plastic though so if you have good cutting and sculpting skills they'll do just fine. Or just use the arms altogether. Since they're truescale and not heroic, they're definitely smaller than the GW ones.

Hmm, they seem about right, but it'd be a pretty wasteful purchase since you only get 12 crossbows in the box of 40 guys and I've no use for any of the other parts. Might be the only option though so thanks for the suggestion.

Or use them as pretty much anythig else. Corpses? New units?

Plus, one box is super cheap anyway. Half as cheap as a regular GW box. For 40 units.

Curse you both, now I have the idea in my head for a new section for my modular Mordheim board featuring an open mass grave. Do you have any idea how much work I'm going to have to do now?

Check out Warmachine Menoth Exemplar Errants. The kit has just cross bows, although I think they look like repeater crossbows. They are pretty small too. Actually most players don't glue them on. So if you ask around you might be able to find a few.

Add Mantic zombie parts for rotting corpses. For greater effect.

And it's not too hard to paint if most of the corpses are burnt. Hahahahhahaa
