Last month, I finished basecoating and washing well over 50 models. They've been sitting on my shelf looking like they could hit the table but not the display case ever since. The unfortunate reason for this is that I started a new SNRI med about 6 weeks ago, and I've been getting these completely unintentional shakes from it. The doctor said it's fine and that it will pass, but I probably can't do fine detail stuff for another month or so.

Just wondering: what do you dudes do when you are forced to take a break from painting? Does it become terrain time? Do you go fishing? Do you power through and love your little potato models no matter what?

Simple; buy a tank or two, get a spray gun, and do some camo! Or, if that's not your thing, play like hell. Just do it.

If I'm struggling to find motivation to paint (different situation to yours but same outcome), I don't force it. I'll focus on my other hobbies for a while, like writing, gaming (tabletop or video), reading or music. My advice would be to find something else you can enjoy without it being a chore and do that for a while until you're back to painting again.

I keep telling myself at least I got my Circle force painted well and sealed before this started.

I might look into getting a tank.. How much do they go for? Funny enough, I have a 4'x3' piece of plywood that's been begging me to paint on it for some time.

I went without painting for a month and my hands actually started trembling - I wasn't aware how necessary it was to relaxing for me! When I got back into painting after that, I started with just basecoats, washing, and assembling. I'd do things like that, and things you can drybrush a lot, like weathering on tanks and the like.

I read a book for half an hour to an hour, then paint until I start to shake again. Eventually I got used to it and I can still paint some detail while I shake, but most times I'll just sit back, stop, and read.
