RAW I believe there is no connection between a vehicle jinking and the passengers inside.

Indeed, the relevant rules for embvarked models firing out makes no mention of Jinking having any effect, and neither does the jink rule.

It's a great example of the sometimes nonsensical 40k rules. A DE Raider moves 7" smoothly forwards in a straight line on its nice cushioned anti-grav field and the crew have to snap shot. A DE Raider dodges and weaves through a hail of incoming fire and the crew can aim perfectly fine.

I think people believe the vehicles 'moves' in some way to Jink, making the people inside go off-balance. However, even an immobilised vehicle can Jink. There's absolutely no connection regarding Jink and effects on passengers.

It's probably the fact that when a vehicle jinks it is dodging and weaving that makes people think it has moved. My point was that this isn't represented in the RAW at all for any passengers and they indeed suffer no penalties to shooting accuracy.

Well, that's just the fluff text on Jink. That doesn't explain how a Immobilised vehicle dodges and weaves battle projectiles, though. It would be better to separate the concepts of 'Jink' and 'moving' to ease comprehension, or at least expand it to justify stopped vehicles dodging stuff

I always had the image of an immobilized hover vehicle just turn on the anti-gave to full blast and "jump" in the air.

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.
