Yes, the title makes no sense, I get that, but I couldn't think of a better way to put it.

Basically, I wanted to hear peoples' opinions on how the 'standard' Space Marine codex compares to the other Astartes codices (Space Wolves, Dark Angels etc.).

Most people will tell you that C:SM are better than Dark Angels any day of the week. Some recent data has shown that DA aren't as terrible as people thought, but on paper C:SM are objectively better. BA are a CC army in a shooty edition, so unfortunately, they just aren't going to measure up. However, their codex is due for an update, so who really knows what could happen. I don't have enough experience to say where Wolves fall in respect to the C:SM chapters.
