lol)
Was pretty uneven of a match really the Skaven side had far to few of the things needed to face up against a vampires list like that.
Those lists were provided in the scenario am I right? Don't own the end times book not until the third book comes out (Skaven)
Good battle report tho and very thorough keep it up!
Hi there and thanks for watching! Yeah, I've done now 5 scenarios from the Nagash campaign, and doing a 6th tomorrow vs HE's. All have been really wonky with different rules that can really leave one side with a major challenge. But that's how I would take it, and I mention that in the video. The scenario's support the narrative and they often edge towards how things unfolded in the story. That being said, its not the kind of game you should expect to mirror a regular scenario from the
BRB and its often not balanced. There's one that is totally a screw to the Empire, and one where I got destroyed vs the Dwarves where the scenario couldn't have been more perfect for them. Still, that's the great thing, it makes you take a different list and use different tactics. Whether you are a competitive player doing lots of tourney's or just a casual player, its nice to mix things up. The skaven player I chose is a really good one, and he won a recent tournament in my area against solid competition. He did have some bad luck, but overall I don't think he adapted well to the scenario Yeah, it was a bit stacked against him too, but he could have taken different list choices, and he admitted to me after the game that his plan switched up once we got into the game and things started happening anyway. Its not hard, once you take a player, even a seasoned one, out of his/her element, to stump them. Thats part of what I like about these kinds of games. Not the stumping, but the keeping you on your toes and making you have to change up your game to compete. Its not just about the win, its the challenge. More often than not, the scenarios have favored me (being the UL player), but I have to also see how to make a list work for the scenario. A few times I've even gone against the grain to try to not min/max and take the most powerful list possible. For instance, one allowed me to take any flyers as core, meaning I could take THREE Terrorghiests as core, and then 2 more as rare, for a whopping FIVE. Or I could have taken an entirely ethereal list (I had the model count for at least the core and then some) which although my opponent had a special rule where all characters, even unit champs, were considered to have enchanted weapons, still would have made it a rather uphill climb for him. In both cases I opted to not the extreme route and took less crazy lists than what was possible. While embracing the scenario, you can still make a challenging list that won't make it unfun for your opponent. Hope you check the rest of the series out!
