I've been jonesing that nostalgia factor to relive my childhood. Any clue how to get this old gem working on Windows 8? I had a crappy pirate copy that loaded, and froze at the second screen always. Jumping back to Windows 7 or getting an older PC is not an option. Consider me Apollo 13. We've gotta work with what I have, an awesome hardware Windows 8 PC.

You say 'had' a pirate copy, are you still using it now? Or do you have a legitimate copy that you want to get working?
