Or have they split into feuding warbands?

Last I recall in the fluff, there really wasn't much about them splitting, and Mortarion still takes an active role in leading them. Typhus is rather estranged from Mortarion (or rather, Mortarion is rather estranged from Typhus) by now so they're at least somewhat split in that regards.

They kinda fall into that funny "not enough fluff to really say. Does GW even care about these guys besides brief cursory appearances?" category.... just like Mortarion himself. Neither the Death Guard nor Mortarion ever get any novels focusing on them. For legions that aren't united in the first place (Emp Children and World Eaters), that makes sense (Can't have a World Eaters novel series if there's no united World Eater legion. I guess Night Lords are excused because they actually DO kinda get united in the end) but for Death Guard? Poor poor ignored Morty and his sons... Even Angron got to be the focus of some stories and a novel).

On moon miranda.

As noted, GW hasn't really gone into them much. Typhus leads his own group, but aside from that it would appear that they're not fractured into dozens or hundreds of groups like the EC or WE.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Generally you have two factions, those under Typhus the Traveller and those under Mortarian the Reaper.

That's my understanding as well.

With Typhus being the more active and involved faction of the two .
