Introductions first, I'm well aware that this is complete fan service. Hearing that, I continue:

As the battlefield continues to evolve, the Fire Caste find their tactics of shooting and withdrawing often inadequate against the many fast-moving enemy warbands.
Earth Castes engineers devised a solution to that challenge in the XV9 Crucible. Constructed upon an up-armoured XV9 Hazard chassis, the Crucible trades the Hazard's modular weapons and mobility for a hardened superstructure as well as equipment more suited to absorbing and hopefully turning devastating assaults.

XV9 already exists in the form of the Hazzard battlesuit though, and numbers do not duplicate in the tau numbering systems even for effectively identical suits with artificial differences. you need to give it a new name (XV95 would work)

As for the rules.
The shield-NO. this is practically R'myr shield, a name character. you do NOT give a named character's unique abilities to a generic unit.
The phoenix gun is nice and interesting, but overpriced. (it is not actually better than the TLBC, in fact its almost always worse.)
The price is too high, but that fits in well with existing XV9 XD

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

I'm personally OK with the shield, it's defense is still worse than a storm shield. I quite like the idea. The fire caste command has always seemed a tad set in it's ways with cc, even though they could turn suits suits into a mean cc unit. They are fast, agile, tough, and strong. They can have heaver weaponry than things like space marines. It should not be the first choice, but CC should be included when it feths you up so often.

It's funny that the XV109 was introduced so soon.

As for the flechette shield, I figured that the Tau are constantly adapting. The shield gets standardized, R'myr get some new gear to test out.

As for cost, I figured with anything home-made, over priced is better than under priced.
