I've not used it much, but all I can say is don't leave the models in it longer than 5 minutes without scrubbing and washing. Then keep repeating I guess.

Isopropyl alcohol will not damage plastic or metal (though I would just use acetone with metal). I pour it into a little plastic container that's large enough to fit my model, and leave the model in the container overnight. Then, I wear nitrile gloves and a mask and scrub with a toothbrush.

All of the paint, including the primer, comes off easily. I have never had a plastic model damaged with isopropyl.

I filled an icecream tub about 2 thirds the way with the IPA, This was enough to submerge a Landrairder.
Throw in some models that need the treatment - dont do it with finecast - they just go soft. Metals and plastics are totally fine for weeks and weeks.

While theyre having a little soak, go find the heavy duty rubber gloves and a tootbrush you can sacrifice for this.

Scrub away. 5 minutes in the alcohol is usually enough to get things started. Some tougher spray paints can take an extended soak before moving. I like to give them all a light scrub after 5-10mins and then leave them untill tomorrow. This helps with the stubborn primer. - wear gloves for this, I use heavy duty rubber ones, but nitrile or latex ones work. The acohol will dry your skin severly, and the dissolved paint will stain your skin. Its not too pleasant. Just wear the gloves.

Ensure to do this in a ventilated area, the fumes coming off a big tub of alcohol can build up. Cause headaches etc etc.
Outside is best, but atleast open the windows.

Use compressed air if atall possible to blast the mini dry once the paint is scrubbed away. I find this really helps as the alcohol carries the paint its dissolved a bit and it settels int he recesses again.
Its going to be rinse in clean alcohol or blast it off with air- your call. I use the airbrush for this without paint in.

Thamor - Plastic models can sit in this stuff for months on end without any damage atall. Metal is fine. Finecast will go soft in an hour dont do this to resin or finecast.

Throw it in the alcohol, then wait and scrub it with a toothbrush. I usually rinse it in water to clear away, but I use acrylic paints for my models. Also, yes you can wear gloves, but its not as much of an irritant compared to acetone. The biggest deal is just the fumes that come off.
