So after grabbing my hands on the Dark Eldar Codex I tried to make a list for 500 points (of which I really struggled for HQ), this is what I came up with

HQ
Archon
-Armour of Misery
-Venom w/ Splinter Cannon x2
=140

Troops
Kabalite Warriors x5
-Blaster
-Venom w/ Spinter Cannon x2
=120

Kabalite Warriors x5
-Blaster
-Venom w/ Splinter Cannon x2
=120

Fast Attack
Scourges x5
-Haywire Blasters x4
=120

I am new to Dark Eldar so this list may not be optional? But I really struggled for HQ choices..

Have as many Venoms as possible to deal with Infantry as well as the new Scourges and Blasters for Vehicles (Blaster isn't ideal, but can help). The Archon has Armour of Misery as it was the remainder of the points leftover, although I could fit in points for a Power Weapon?

I am also debating switching the Archon and his Venom for a Haemonuclus and Trueborn to hold backfield objectives while firing off Splinter Cannons, thoughts?

Would very much like opinions from the Dark Eldar vets

I was also debating between a Haemonuclus with Wracks for backfield objectives, or change the Venoms into Raiders and have Trueborn Kabalites with the Archon sitting at the back with Splinter Cannons.

500 points is tough. Archon is poor but basically is here as a place holder. A Succubus with Archite Glaive is a good decent cheap HQ with some CC punch though doesn't really fit here.

I like Haywire on Scourges though at 500 I think Heat Lances offer more options as they work against a wider range of targets though are more difficult to use.

Perhaps drop a unit to bump the others then take a cheap throw away support unit like Reavers Mandrakes?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Something like this:

Archon: Blaster 75

Warriors: Blaster; Raider Dissy 110
Warriors: Blaster; Venom 2 SC 120

Scourges: 4 Heat lances 120
Reavers: Champ, Caltrops 73

Or

Archon: Blaster 75

Warriors: Blaster; Raider Dissy NS 125
Warriors: Blaster; Venom 2 SC 120

Scourges: 4 Heat lances 120

5 Mandrakes: 60

Gives you a great variety of options and more than 1 unit that is a threat to vehicles and 2+ saves.

Just saw your reply as I was editing my list, was that in response to the first list (with the Raider in) or the current one? Shall look into Lances though, I don't need to worry about Landraiders too much

Yeah reply was to first list. Second one looks better. Though I'd give the Archon a Blaster over the armour so he can actually do something.

Heat Lances aren't for Landraiders, they are for other vehicles but are also a threat to stuff like Broadsides, Riptides, Centurions, Terminators etc that the Haywire Blasters are poor against which means a quarter of your list is doing nothing against armies with AV units.
