Just bought a Strikeforce and a Templars upgrade sprue, totally ready to go and start building, and then I learn that the torsos in the upgrade kit isn't compatible with the new tac squad box torsos. Anyone know where I can purchase the old tac squad box, or at least the torsos?

You can try some bits sites, but otherwise, you may have to fudge with things and see if you can make them work anyways (I don't know what the problem you're facing is exactly so I can't really offer any advice). or call GW up and tell them that you want a refund for selling a product that you can't use.

Or trim the little plastic tags off, if you use polystyrene cement, you'll still get a perfect bond. Takes seconds to do.
If you really don't want to do that, the assault squad box would be your best bet, that has spare torsos of the old style.

If you just cut the little pegs off on the inside of the torsos you'll do just fine. There's some variation between existing Space Marine kits (and ones prior) and I've had to do this with some of them. Alternately, go on eBay and look for OOP NIB Space Marines and hope for the best.

I tried cutting the little pegs off, but the torso still didn't really look right. The pieces just don't match up that nicely. I may give it another shot.

IIRC only the new SM kits (Tac box, both Vets) use the changed pegs. Older boxes, like assault marines, or the devastator/command squad boxes should use the old system. As the strikeforce includes a assault/command squad, you should have some compatible torsos for the BT stuff. If you assemble the assault marines with jump packs, you even end up with extra bodies.
