Pretty much any aerosol spray presents the same health hazards. A proper mask (VOC-rated filter, not just a dust mask) is recommended if you must spray in enclosed spaces, but proper ventilation can generally render one unnecessary.

If I'm able to spray outdoors, I do - positioning myself upwind, I won't even smell the spray. If I have to spray in the bathroom, due to inclement weather, even a quick spray session will have noticeable negative effects. A dust mask or bandana over the face will keep you from having black (or whatever color you're spraying) snot, but the fumes will still get to you. An open window and a fan pointed toward it would be better and a vented hood/spray booth better still.

Breathing the fumes from spraying a few models every so often won't kill you, but you aren't doing yourself any favors if you breathe the stuff. No need to be completely paranoid, but take reasonable precautions when able.

Does citadel produce an MSDS?

Oadie is right.

All Spray paints can be hazardous. I spray on an enclosed porch in front of a window with a fan blowing outward and have had no problems. Really it's just not a good idea to spray inside where there's not good airflow, though in the winter I do sometimes spray in the attic… Not a great idea even if you're quickly spraying and then leaving the room.

Here's a MSDS for one kind of Citadel paint,

Though I haven't seen any others, iIf you contact GW, they can probably send you one for any paint they have. They might even have different MSDS for each paint since each paint has slightly different chemicals.

They must, Udo, but none that is handily linked from the product page. Potential hazards from specific toxic pigments aside, though, most aerosols have similar ingredients and associated risks, generally centered around the solvents/propellents used - hydrocarbons, toluene, acetone, etc. Looking up the MSDS for something like Krylon flat black would probably tell you everything you need to know about Citadel Chaos Black.

Well, like all spray paint, use it outside or in any well ventilated area, and don't aim it at your face, you should be fine.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.
