So I have 2 black reach dreads still on their sprue just laying around and plan on purchasing the new Space Wolves dreadnought kit. With my 3 dreads, I would be able to model Bjorn, the venerable dread, and Murderfang. My question is will the dreadnought arms from the Space Wolves set fit on the body of the black reach dread?

They will, but you'll need to glue/green stuff them a little, the pins on the AOBR dreads are larger than the Dread Arms. You also only get 1 left arm and 2 right arms with the SW kit, so you'll need to cut/glue some bits.

I did the same thing with the Blood Angels DC dreadnought. The biggest issue is swamping the front panels with the sarcophagus. Because you don't get extra side or top bits, the only way to do it is to hack the front off the AOBR dread with a saw, and transplant the kit parts on top. It's not an easy conversion. It will almost certainly require a lot of filling.

The arms aren't a big deal to fit, but as has been mentioned, you might not have enough. I had to buy an extra right handed PF off ebay to make it work. It's nice having the old dreadnought fronts for scenery though.

Thanks for the response guys. Should be fun converting the dreads.

Anyone else get the impression of a troll head doll going on a AoBR Dread for Bjorn? Or is that just where GW got the mold from! [rimshot]

Just so you know you only get two arms with the space wolf dread kit, it's only the hand bits that are different between the three variants, so you will definitely be short of arms, but certainly you could make some interesting counts-as conversions rather than out and out replicas of the SW variants. Good luck!
