Hey dakka. I've been thinking about what I want my next army to be and I have come up with necrons. Here's the list I want to build towards what do you think?

Necron lord, destroyer body, warscythe, res orb

10 immortals: night scythe
5 immortals: night scythe
2* 15 warriors: night scythe
6 wraiths: 2 whip coils, 4 particle casters
2* monolith

1850 total

Lord joins wraiths... Can he do that?
Any good?

Here is an optimal list for 7th edition. Tweak as desired.

2 x bargeLords with the usual wargear. Warlord has resOrb.

2 x 5 warriors in Ghost Arks (1 pulseTek in each)

3 x 5 warriors in Night Scythes (1 stormTek in each)

3 Annihilation Barges

Only thing is that list doesn't really go with the theme I wanted for this army. I wanted an infantry heavy list, that is the whole reason I chose necrons. Can an infantry heavy necron list be competitive? Not like tournament competitive because I have eldar for that but still a hard fight for most armies

Sure. An infantry heavy list can be competitive.

I would load up on Crypteks (storm, despair, and destruct), Ghost Arks, and Night Scythes, and Deathmarks. I would lose the wraiths and the Destroyer Lord in favor of HQ or HQs that can add royal court(s). You should also look at Crypteks with the Veil gear that lets them teleport units around the table.
