Hi all,

I just finished converting a Jetbike Farseer. I used the plastic Farseer since his mantle is ideal for this and a simple Jetbike kit along with a bit of Green Stuff. I followed my army's usual black/wraithbone colour scheme, but changed the colours of the gems from red to blue/white, to reflect his psychic powers. Most of the time went into the sketch and actual lightning on the front shield.

Please feel free to comment, critic, accolade

Excellent stuff, I like that colour scheme and the bike is great!

Thanks I'm really unhappy with the picture though. I gotta get a better camera. Or at least a better diffuse light source. I'll post another pic once I got a better one.

Is the lightning all freehand? It looks great regardless. Lots of witchery.

I would like to see a better lighted picture so I can decide if I like that bone or not. I'm trying to achieve nice looking bone right now and I'd like to know how you get yours. Is the black just a regular basecoat, with blended gray edge highlights?

The recesses around the gems and helmet crest look good and the gems themselves are spot on. Can't wait to see more!

Yes, the lightning is freehand. All I did as preparation was to do a google image search for "lightning" to get an inspiration for the crossing patterns.

For the wraithbone I use a mixing pot, put some bleached bone (called ushabti bone now I think) in it and mix it with some graveyard earth and agrax earthshade (careful, this thins it down). This is the basecoat for all bone areas. Then I shade it with agrax earthshade, especially the recesses around the gems etc. After that I use my basic mix again for the exposed surfaces. Then I use pure bleached bone for the highlights.

Yes, the black is the basecoat. A medium gray is used for basic highlighting and a light gray for the edges. Blended/shaded greys are added on bigger surfaces/areas.
