You know, that "victory" where the GJWs mass-emailed Intel and got them to pull some ads from the sites the GJWs didn't like? Looks like it wasn't a victory after all: http://newsroom.intel.com/community/intel_newsroom/blog/2014/10/03/chip-shot-intel-issues-statement-on-gamasutra-advertising

We take feedback from customers seriously. For the time being, Intel has decided not to continue with our current ad campaign on the gaming site Gamasutra. However, we recognize that our action inadvertently created a perception that we are somehow taking sides in an increasingly bitter debate in the gaming community. That was not our intent, and that is not the case. When it comes to our support of equality and women, we want to be very clear: Intel believes men and women should be treated the same. And, diversity is an integral part of our corporate strategy and vision with commitments to improve the diversity of our workforce. And while we respect the right of individuals to have their personal beliefs and values, Intel does not support any organization or movement that discriminates against women. We apologize and we are deeply sorry if we offended anyone.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Their goal was to pull advertising from sites. The advertising was still pulled. That Intel wants people to know it's supporting equality and women isn't wrong. I'm not really sure what you're trying to prove? Also, this news is a few days old

The goal might have been to get the advertising removed, but it was presented as some kind of major victory with Intel supporting their cause. And hey, looks like it wasn't that at all, and Intel has now publicly stated that their advertising decision was not a sign of support for the GJWs after all. They even leave open the possibility of buying ad space in the future, once the internet finds a new pet cause to get outraged about. So even the one trivial accomplishment of the GJWs turns out to be nothing more than a meaningless "victory".
