Seriously, why are people complaining so much about the Eldar? Nids are way more insane. Check out battle reports on the internet, especially on Youtube, you will see Tyranids win 80% the times, more than the Eldar. So if Eldar deserve a nerf, Nids would probably deserve 2 or 3.

I think the reason you see those BatReps is because watching Nids get swept off the table by Turn 3 is boring. So people post the bug wins, because it's generally special.

I hope this thread is a joke, because Nids are seriously awful. They have to spam a handful of units to stand a chance, about 1/2 to 3/4s of the Codex is useless (not to mention that nearly every upgrade option is useless) and synapse is brutally punishing to the player. Add to that that they have no mobility options and are lucky if they make it to assault before getting shot off the board by a gunline.

Of course, success will come down to generalship and some luck in the end, but that's a sign that the Codex sucks. Compare to Eldar, where a relatively unskilled player can do well with the right tools, and you'll see what I mean.

Have you read the Eldar codex? Have you read the Tyranid Codex? I assume you haven't so take out word for it, Nids are not OP. They have exactly 1 usable competitive list which revolves around Flyrants, every other type of list sucks.

One of our local players (and FLGS owner) has a massive 25k+ collection of Nids and he'd disagree with the OP. Now he can win with them, but from what I've gathered it can be work to do so and takes a pretty good player to do so.

Locally though it's a better army than my Sisters are and I've been wanting to start a hoard army for a while. Just need some good Space Hulk esk bases for my Hive Fleet Kraken.

No, I'd say Dakkafexes are pretty good as well. Now Flying Devil Tyrant good, but still good.

Everything else is really hit or miss depending on local meta.

Yeah man. I wish Tyranids were good. They're my favorite army model-wise.

But they are pretty dookie. Even the dataslates released to patch them up don't do all that much to help.

I play my small Tyranid army basically just to see them on the board, and also its a good challenge to win a game with them against most armies, so winning with them is rewarding.

Not everyone is so swayed by logical fallacies. Meanwhile, a tiny, uncontrolled sample size does not overwhelming, rigorous data set make.

Come back when you've done some science on the subject, or deconsctructed the rules, or something.

Nids have a few tricks they can play, but they're mostly crap, and even their best play can be countered by others best play fairly easily.

There's already threads for this argument. Banshees. Eldar serpant spam isn't Overpowered. Flayed Ones. Necron flying circus isn't overpowered.

You cant just name a unit someone only takes to be fluffy, and say its a reason the whole codex isn't overpowered.

We can start with the Eldar, then the Tau, then the GK, lastly we will nerf the Tryanids.....

The Endless Swarm formation is actually super fun to fight with a TAC list, because it comes down to "can I kill his synapse and break his army before I drown in bodies."

Local nid player drowns ME in bodies and I'm an ork player. Last game we played was Maelstrom and it went to turn 7. I killed all his synapse and most of his MCs, but his tides of gaunts just kept coming back over and over. I won by like, 1 VP, but only because I was able to hide a truck in a corner to prevent being tabled. Super fun, suggest ya'll try it if you haven't.

OP does have a point though...if you dont know what you'll be facing, your chance of being able to beat a 500 point tyranid armylist with a flyrant are very, very slim.
