Hey so I was playing my chaos dwarf and having the usual fun but I was playing against an old friend who just said something that caught me off guard. It is a fun army to play but they arn't legal plus I thought you would be using a dwarf army with slayers seem more like your style.

So I never gave it much thought got home opened up my dwarf book and was wondering...... is it really possible to have a army with the slayer king his slayer unit and some dragon/daemon slayers and still win? Not the haha opponent ran of the map again type of win but the well that was a good fight and my slayers did good fight.

So encase my question was to vague " slayer army good or bad?"

Off the top of my head (and note, I'm fairly new to fantasy and actually play High Elves but enjoy list building across the board) - big block of Slayers with Ungrim, Warriors with great weapons for core, sprinkle organ guns / cannons / throwers / engineers just because.

Slayers are almost good. Almost.

Unbreakable is cool. Great weapons or two hand weapons and Death Blow are cool.

Their price tag on a M3 model with no saves...not cool.

Slayers are great in units of 5. Deployed 1-wide and 5-deep, there's a good chance that this little 60pt unit can hold up a big block for two combat phases.
Slayers in a Horde...if your opponent can't handle them, he'll avoid them. If they can handle them, he'll crush them.
