I heard someone say something about multi-charging or something to that effect. Is it legal to announce a charge on an enemy unit, resolve that phase, and charge the same enemy unit with a different unit?

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature.

Yes, but I am unsure if you are following the process correctly given what you have posted here. I do not know what you mean by 'Resolve that Phase' but it seems to suggest resolving the whole Assault Phase before a second Charge and that is just wrong on so many levels. I assume you mean you are resolving that particular Assault between the two Units then initiating another Assault, but even that is not correct. The Assault Phase is broken up into two sub-phases, one being for Charges and the other being for the Fight itself.

The process would be:
Announce Charge with First Unit against Target A
Resolve the Rules related to that Charge
Announce Charge with second Unit against Target A
Resolve the Rules related to that Charge
- Remember, can only Overwatch once and must not already be base to base contact... rare is the second Charge that gets shot up.
Announce Charges with other Units against other Targets
Resolve the Rules related to those charges, one at a time.

THEN Resolve each individual Multi-Unit Fight...

This is legal and quite useful against heavy shooty lists. Send some bait stuff and then, after that unit is locked in combat, you charge with the real deal (the strong melee unit). This way, the charged unit won't be able to overwatch the 2nd charger and neither use special grenades (like defensive or psyk-out), unless the item specifies otherwise. Counter-attack will work regardless because it is per turn, not per combat locking (like defensive grenades)

"Multicharge" usually refers to charging multiple enemy units with a single friendly unit - for example a 100 mob green tide could happily charge half the board at times....

Oh, wel in this case it's good as well vs shooty lists - you force 2-3 entire units to stay put, locked with your charging unit...

nosferatu1001,
Usually, yes, but it is clear in this situation the player was using the terminology incorrectly to begin with.

You are incorrect about the defensive grenades

You have to be locked from a previous turn to not be able to use defensive grenades.
