This thread is about what people find in their junk mail folder. I had to clarify because apparently it wasn't obvious to someone.
So, I was skimming through my spam folder to make sure nothing I actually wanted wound up there and I came across an email that had the following in big bold oversized text...

Sometimes i do wonder if you are really with your senses. How could you keep trusting people and at the end you will loose your hard earned money,or are you being deceived by their big names? They impersonate on many offices,claiming to be Governors, Directors/Chairmen of one Office or the other.
Their game plan is only just to extort your hard earned money. Now, the question is how long will you continue to be deceived? Sometimes, they will issue you fake check,fake ATM card,introduce you to fake diplomatic delivery,UN-existing on-line banking and they will also fake wire transfer of Your fund with Payment Stop Order.
Anyways,by the virtue of my position,i have been following this transaction from inception and all your efforts towards realizing the fund. More often than not,i sit down and laugh at your ignorance and that of those who claim they are assisting you,it is very unfortunate that at the end you loose. Although,i don't blame you because you are not here in Ghana to witness the processing of your payment in Ghana.The problem here is that you've never been told the whole truth about this transaction and it is because of this truth they decided to extort you.

Work email gets constant spam begging me to go to various seminars and conventions in different places, as well as desperate sales guys and recruiters emailing asking for times to call me about sales pitches/interviews.
I actually had a recruiter email me at my personal address once (it's my work email except @gmail.com) saying he knew where I worked and was wanting to know if I was interested in a position at another company in NY. That was the only one I've ever responded to, and it was not an amicable response.

Know what I did? I actually talked to one of the recruiters and gave her my requirements to even consider moving around. (+50k more, company luxery car, fly 1st class, min 20% yearly bonus). All of which are negotiable, but they're my starting points.
Somehow that info got out and the number of headhunter solicitors dropped.
I don't know if I want to completely burn those bridges though. Who knows, might WANT to leave one day.

If I'm honest with myself, it really wasn't that hard to turn down. Because I was happy/content with where I was at in that time.
Now, to someone else, they'd probably jump all over that offer for that opportunity for different reasons.
