What did you bring to deal with the sort of hordes you might expect to encounter at the 2500 point level?

Warhammer is in many ways a game of rock-paper-scissors. Your list translates to "ROCK!" Your list will crush scissors, and possibly out-rock other rock lists, but 2500 point paper will wrap you up. At that point level, boyz or conscripts can bubble wrap anything of value, and/or tie up the big man all game long, and they even have objective secured for if the fight takes place near an objective.

I use a list composed largely of space marine characters (incl. techmarines) leading squads of guardsmen. Grav guns don't bother me. Ignore Cover does, so the sternguard make me nervous, but there are only ten of them. Think of what a vindicator or two arriving from reserve on turn 2 could do to your army's advance elements.

Two more things: 1) People who show up at game stores ready to play 2500 point battles are rare, since it would typically take all day to play. 2) I feel like you're not taking into account how horrifyingly large, powerful, or otherwise tough a 2500 point army arrayed against you would appear. Have you ever faced a 2500 point foe? When you bring more points, so does your opponent.

Yeah this list is meh, I feel like the lv 2 libby is a waste especially on a bike.

Some suggestions,

-You are unbound right? Why aren't there multiple chapters present here? Ultramarines for tigurius to put in the other pod with the centurions, or white scars with a librarian that isn't on a bike to give the centurions hit & run.

-The pod strike is awful. You have 3 hard hitting pods with at least 250+ points in each of them, why are only two coming onto the board turn one? Just cut the bike troops, (they are overcosted anyways) and get two min tac squads in a drop pod. Good for late game objective grabbing and the 5 pod count will insure you get 2 centurion squads and the sternguard into their face turn one. Combined with the Dreadknights im sure that would be a mean alpha strike.

- cut the grey knights librarian. He is a waste of points. Where are you putting him? You're unbound you dont need an HQ

- I know if you lose all your bikes you won't have anywhere to put the chapter master, but that is OK. If you follow my advice then they will have too many threats in their face turn one to even care about him. You can just turbo boost him into their face as well.

- if you really want to get guys around him, try a command squad on bikes (with that librarian you took for one of the pods) 200 points for 4 melta guns, on bikes and an apothecary. That is another scary unit.

- If you do get tigurius make the sternguard ultramarines, that way they benefit from the Tactical doctrine turn one.

There, you unbounding imperium turd. Some helpful advice from a very proud, competitve ultramarines player. Now that I have given it to you, I shake my head in shame and judge you like the rest.

Honestly, having seen and math hammered a battle forged 2500 pt guard list... Yeah, I'd have a Steel Host on the table, 150 odd bodies and three times as much shoot turn 1 as this list by turn 3... There is so much more I can do with Leman Russes alone then this... Yeah, Pask+two LR Executioners eat, that whole list, not including the rest of the Host. and a thousand points of Ablative, Sticky guards bodies... Sorry, while I get points for every objective I roll over, and ignore any and all shooting, because your hitting the guardsmen in front I'm putting out 15 odd Plasma small blasts a turn and gets hot isn't my issue... How bout you? You bring enough pie plates to kill 150 stubborn guardsmen?

Don't play unbound, unless you have a nigh invincible death star. This isn't it.

All Russes and a hydra have Preferred Enemy. I'd go space Marines... And half my tanks run right over that FNP... Goodluck killing my Battle-Forged list.

Wow.. you sound like the guy at my flgs that no one likes or plays with because you think your mathhammer makes you some God. How annoying. Anyway the list isn't emvery good like others have said . To little bodies for points cost.

Didn't mean to come off angry, unbound does that... Normally I'm nice an fluffy. Used to run blood claws and Ragnar in fifth, before flyers came and ate two thousand points of wolves in two turns... Heldrakes and unbound are two things that make me mad.
