I'm not the greatest painter in the world, but I do my best. I'm still beginning and learning new things. I'm much more of a fan of the blended dark colour tones than the almost comic book style that others favour.

The centre of a massive brood chamber, heaving and pulsating.

Looks good, but I can see a few problems.

First, the bases need a bit of work. The sorcerer needs some kind of basing material (sand or something) applied- it just looks a bit plain otherwise. The lord's base could do with some drybrushing.

Second, the blood on thr sorcerer's sword is a bit flat. Some gloss varnish would make it stand out a bit more.

Third, the lord's face stands out too much. It's too bright and clean next to the rest of the model, which is very dark and grimy. I'd suggest giving it a was to tone back the brightness a bit.

Other than that, they're good.

Your painting overall is very good.
I would say when doing blood on swords use small strokes along the blade edge going away from the direction at which the blade would of cut is more effective, it makes it have more of a gradient in tone so is looks less solid.

Yeah, I overdid the blood on the sword, but I'm not terribly worried about it. If I get the time it will be easily fixed.

I don't have any sand for the sorceror's base unfortunately, so he'll have to do for now until I can get my hands on some.
